Meat-eating Goat by dracontes Meat-eating Goat by dracontes
In the grand tradition of carnotaurines taking on the rôle of an aspect of an artist's life, this putative smaller upland relative of Carnotaurus expresses my displeasure at the finicky nature of (some) software. Either that, or I felt the feline-like tension in the tail would suit the curiosity expressed in the head and body posture of the animal as it evaluates the onlooker.

Done on OneNote mostly unreferenced while waiting for program updates to download. In the meantime, I also discovered an incompatibility that (apparently) didn't involve Comodo Internet Security. Joy... However, in the end, between the updating of the offending software and the heading off of possible conflicts, that issue was fixed.
In any case, regarding the drawing, this time I tried to do things the way I do it in standard image editors, i. e. building the animal from the inside out. Unfortunately, OneNote has no way to mimic layers so I ended up just drawing on top of what I'd done before, which, considering that selecting parts of it to move them around or copy/paste them for some reason shuffles the depth order of brush strokes, made the process fairly unsatisfactory. It also meant that for the finished drawing, after tracing in black the customary colorful sketch I do, I had to tediously paint over the latter in white so I could have something to show for my work. If you notice a greenish or reddish cast to the linework, that's why.

ScottHartman's Carnotaurus skeletal was referenced for some anatomical details I didn't have quite present in my mind at the time about the clade's syndrome.
Much obliged to Megalotitan, Midiaou, Pfunkei and pilsator for critique, commentary and encouragement. Specifically, Midiaou's work on his own carnotaurine reminded me I could use my observations of ratites as a template for some aspects of foot anatomy.

Soundtrack: Justice's † (Cross).

Done in digital ink pen via Wacom tablet on OneNote 2007. Cropping and *.jpg compression in Paintshop Pro 9.
