For lack of a better name... :-/

I caught myself carving a small, 5-centimeter stone with a pocket knife. Something my father didn't altogether like because it was his pocket knife. Despite the inopinate jabs at my left thumb I carved following the stone's original shape and soft spots.
Mid-process while Dad had confiscated his pocket knife I thought about drawing the creature I had carved. So interpreting the stone the best I could, I drew this creature with a helicoidal symmetry over the weekend.
