Description
As I was walking around the Algarvian countryside I noticed that bugalho flowers were a magnet to arthropods. Some come to lap at the nectaria, others such as this crab spider come to take advantage of the formers' distraction.
A thomisid spider, Synema globosum, on the inflorescence of a fennel relative, Prangos trifida.
Taken 2009/04/04 with my Canon PowerShot SX110 IS. Processed in Photoshop 7. Resized in Paintshop Pro 9.

Gods, what a fat bugger!
Heh, I'm not used to crab spiders standing out so much. The ones that haunt my granny's flower garden are very good at being the same colour as the flowers.
